Lipstick on a Pig: How Illusion Leads to Crisis

Manage projects in the real world long enough and you're bound to live through it.... Everyone on the team knows the project is struggling yet no one speaks up. Read the status report and things sound reasonably fine. Yet the project is barreling into a death spiral.
Lipstick on a pig. No matter how thick you try to cover it, reality always wins. As Jerry Weinberg observed in "The Secrets of Consulting" (Dorset House, 1985), "It may look like a crisis, but it's only the end of an illusion." This insightful and entertaining session looks at key illusions that threaten success as we lead projects and people. Whether you're a project team member, a project manager, or a senior executive sponsor, this interactive program provides practical tips you can immediately apply in your real world projects (even those that are real porkers)!
Andy Kaufman helps organizations around the world who are struggling with how to deliver projects and lead teams. He helps people get focused, take action, and deliver results. His keynotes, workshops, and executive coaching services have reached tens of thousands of people from hundreds of companies, helping them deliver their projects, become more confident leaders, take focused action, and to achieve the results they desire while maintaining a balanced life. Andy is a certified trainer and author of three books, including Navigating the Winds of Change: Staying on Course in Business & in Life, Shining the Light on The Secret, and an e-book entitled How to Organize Your Inbox & Get Rid of E-Mail Clutter. He is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP®) and a member of the Project Management Institute (PMI®). You can learn more about Andy at www.i-leadonline.com.
